Slip In (Type NH-SLIP IN STANDARD)
Duct heater can be produced in various types according to application type and fabrication of duct. Typical slip in heaters are designed so that entire frame can be installed easily inside the duct. Using a slip in heater permits the installation of the entire ventilation system before heaters become available.
Flanged Type heater (Type NH- FLANGED OPTION)
Flanged heaters are designed so that heater is an integral part of the duct work. Heater frame is attached to the matching duct flanges. Generally standard flanges are used to attach into the duct.
Collar type
Round collar electric heater is available for installation on round duct system with a standard diameter ranging 6” to 24”. They are provided with one male and one female adapter for ease of installation.
Magnetic Contactor
Higher no. of cyclic range up to 100,000 operations and as standard used to de-energized the circuit. This opens minimum number of lines to interrupt the flow of current to the stage of the heater being controlled by that contactor.
Air flow sensor switch
Differential pressure sensing diaphragm in sensor detects the change in pressure and transmits the signal to supply the power for heater. Sensitivity of air flow pressure switch can be adjusted as per the requirement of temperature. Both positive and negative pressure can be sensed by the sensor for switching between power supply. This device is position sensitive and cannot be mounted on flat horizontal surface.
24V Transformer
Control wiring transformer available in variety of primary voltages 120, 208, 220, 240, etc. having secondary voltages like 24, 208, 24. Transformer supplies linear power supply as per requirement of control circuit demand. Transformer including internal primary over current protection ensures the safety for control circuit and failure of contactor
Disconnect Switch (Isolator)
Control wiring transformer available in variety of primary voltages 120, 208, 220, 240, etc. having secondary voltages like 24, 208, 24. Transformer supplies linear power supply as per requirement of control circuit demand. Transformer including internal primary over current protection ensures the safety for control circuit and failure of contactor
Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB)
For over current protection in the circuit power supply line is equipped with MCB to trip the circuit after exceeding the certain current rating for the individual circuit. As like fuses it does not requires replacement as it trips the circuit.
Auto reset thermostats
Automatic high limit temperature thermostats are incorporated for primary high temperature protection. This control automatically cuts the heater off when temperature exceeds. Also, it will automatically bring the heater back on after cool down period.
Manual reset thermostats
Duct heaters are equipped with manual reset thermostat and re-settable switches. Replacement and servicing do not requires removing the heater from duct. High limit temperature setting knob is provided on the thermostat itself to cut off the power supply on desired temperature.
Fuses and fuses Blocks
Duct heater will be supplied with standard fuses as per the requirement for system and fuse blocks whenever total load exceeds as per designed circuit value it blows away to protect further devices. Heaters with higher capacity and multiple stages are provided fuses in each line to protect various stages in system.
Terminal Block (Power distribution block)
Heatbird Provides terminal blocks for field connections exceeding 24V. These blocks are sized to accept the correctly sized field wiring and avoiding shorting of wires while packaging.
Pilot Lights
For better understanding of system health good indicators and lights are provided along with control panel of the heater. Using these lights as a signal the operator can instantly visually notes general status of heater and identify malfunction if any. Following indications can be shown on control panel of the system which can be provided as per requirements.
Step Controller
For high power range applications duct heaters are available with electronic step controller if required. They are used to stage multiple steps of electric or pneumatic control. Switching multiple stages with step controller ensures that the room set point should not take stress as load requirement changes.
SCR Controller
Heat bird also provides duct heaters along with SCR controls. One hundred percent solid state proportionating control is noiseless and does not have any mechanical device. SCR controlled duct heaters can be able to provide very fine and precise temperature environment which can be having highest reliability. Modulation from 0 to 100% can be achieved by time based proportional firing which can be varied in response to the various thermostat demands.
Insulated Control Panel
Insulation is recommended between control panel and heaters for higher temperatures. Insulation material will be installed between panel and hot surface area to prevent condensation on electrical components.
Bottom Control Panel
Bottom control panel can be supplied when required for easy installation and maintenance.
Remote Control Panel
In some case it is advisable to install panel remotely from heating elements.It is also supplied as per requirement which enable to operate the heater from remote locationlike control room, etc.
